Registered Phenomena Code: 296

Object Class: Gamma-Red

Hazard Types: Aggression Hazard, Regenerative Hazard, Sentient Hazard, Bio-Hazard, Contact Hazard, Radiation Hazard

Containment Protocols: RPC-296 is to be kept in a 3.048x3.048 meter room made up of 0.0508 meter thick concrete and heavily dimmed lights. RPC-296's chamber must be elevated in another 9.144x9.144 meter concrete room, while the inner chamber is to be elevated 2.4384 meters off the outer chamber's floor with reinforced steel beams that hold RPC-296's room in place on every end of the outer room. A large steel blast door is located on the north side of the outer room so that gaurds may enter and exit as they please. Caution tape is located under each steel beam, in order to signal personnel to not come this close to RPC-296.

RPC-296's outer chamber is to be monitered by four armed gaurds, equipped with heavy-duty hazmat suits. Shifts between gaurds should be changed every 6 hours to maintain constant surveillance. Upon exiting the chamber, they are to be electronically tested for radiation before completely leaving the area. A security camera with thermal detection equipment is located above the exit of the chamber and is pointed at a position where there are few blindspots. No cameras are located in RPC-296's inner room to prevent uneccessary damage to equipment. A audio-detecting bug is located inside the wall of the inner chamber and is powered by electric wires that run up the beams that hold the chamber in place. A staff member must be present for listening in on the bug at all times, to perhaps report signs of distress and possible security breach. A radioactive sensor is set directly under the chamber and is set to beep loudly in case of increased radioactive activity.

Description: RPC-296 is a humanoid entity measuring 1.85m tall and outward appearance suggests that it is male, however due to its skeletal and deformed appearance, no successful attempts and deducing its race or ethnicity have failed. RPC-296 has little to no muscular build and seems almost malnourished. It's skin is burnt and charred from what can be assumed as it's own abnormality. It's appearance is unsettling to most staff members and to witnesses to it's first appearance. RPC-296 skin is littered with open wounds, festering tumors and rough skin. It's face, when spotting a living organism, is said to be in a wide and unnerving grin. RPC-296 doesn't appear to require sustenance or sleep to maintain itself.

The anamolous properties of RPC-296 are mainly based on radioactivivity. The general atmosphere around RPC-296 itself (8 meters) emanates exactly 1 krad, which can lead to acute radiation syndrome, which in itself, is not deadly to humans. If biological matter is to come within 4 meters of RPC-296, victim will recieve 8 krads, this makes subjects sick to their stomach, head, and will report feeling sore and brittle. This distance alone can be fatal enough if exposed for too long. Upon physical contact of RPC-296, victim will experience 15 krads to the contacted spot, which can be fatal to humans and most animals due to the nature of RPC-296. At a passive state, only about 5 krads are emanated in RPC-296's general atmosphere. Attempts at harming or incapacitating RPC-296 have all lead to failure, as it will seem to regenerate over a short period of time after these attacks (12 seconds to 2 minutes depending on severity of attack.) It doesn't show signs of pain when harmed, and will continue its assault on someone no matter the injuries.

Upon being in proximity to any biological life form, RPC-296's body will start producing more euphoria, causing RPC-296 to show signs of excitement though it's unknown whether this is because RPC-296 possesses human level intelligence and gains pleasure upon seeing biologic organisms, or whether this is simply a part of its body process. This also causes the amount of radiation that is produced by RPC-296 to increase as it will start approaching. RPC-296 does not exhibit any exceptional forms of speed or reflex, causing it to walk around 4.3 mph per average.

RPC-296 shows a desperate tendency to make physical contact with targets and will generally ignore other stimuli in order to do so. On average, the recorded time that RPC-296's touch will kill someone is 8.47 seconds. Upon the victim's death, RPC-296 will immediately lose interest and move on to the next living organism in its area. The only noticeable change in its behaviour is during a state in which RPC-296 will briefly become agitated and increase the amount of radiation that it produces, but this only lasts for around 60 seconds on average.

Discovery: RPC-296 was first sighted by civilians in ████, Africa in June 12th, 1999.

Addendum 01: On the 8th August 2006, a rural village was discovered to have been contaminated with large and lethal amounts of radiation. The inhabitants were found to have been piled together, with their skin having been observed to have melted and fused upon being placed in the large pile. Upon an MST being sent to investigate, no other traces of RPC-296 were discovered, however the village was kept under watch in the event that it returned.

Addendum 02: On the 1st November 2006, RPC-296 had been spotted stalking a small village that was relatively close to the affected one. An MST was sent in to capture RPC-296 while civilians were briefly escorted out. A life like mannequin was set in the middle of the village in order to lure RPC-296, however after 2 hours of no sighting, the MST force were given radiation proof hazard suits and tranquilliser guns. Because of RPC-296's physical touch, minor losses occurred while RPC-296 was successfully subdued and placed in a shipping container where it was sent to Site-██

Researchers and many staff members have suggested termination of RPC 296 due to its effect on site resources.
There is a pending request to the Global Directors from Site-██ on the termination of RPC-296.
