Registered Phenomena Code: 871

Object Class: Beta-Red

Hazard Types: Memory Alteration Hazard, Sensory Hazard, Emotional Hazard

Containment Protocols: Barring complete destruction of the brain, RPC-871 cannot be cured by any means known to the Authority. Affected individuals are to be contained and isolated in soundproofed chambers. Requests and interviews are to be done via the written word.

Any information and image related to or depicting Amantha Roelay outside of this document identified by web crawlers is to be removed and destroyed.

Description: RPC-871 is a infohazardous meme linked to any photographic or digital depiction of pop artist Amantha Roelay as a vector, only capable of affecting a small population (estimated to be 0.07%) of English-speaking individuals.

While the exact encoding process is unknown, it is understood that, should an individual capable of infection view an image of Amantha Roelay unfiltered and unprotected, that RPC-871 will thereafter affect the subject’s ability to register and perceive information, causing the exponential removal of all information not directly related to Amantha Roelay.

The meme's effect is not immediate but it is exponential, accelerating in its removal of data as more "subjects" are removed.

RPC-871 has been classified as a S0S2 Mozi-Lethe Rasa memetic infohazard. S1 denotes the meme’s severity, capable of affecting only the individual and it’s spread limited by the capacity of the infected to distribute depictions of Mrs. Roelay. S2 denotes its inability to spread beyond the English language.

Mozi memes utilize photography or digital art as a vector. Lethe denotes the meme’s ability to affect and distort the perception and recall of information. Rasa denotes the meme's capability of erasing all information from the brain.

RPC-871 can only be neutralized by the erasure of all information in the brain or through death.

Discovery:

RPC-871 was first classified as a potential infohazard following the death of Alexander Bromstead, a 19-year old Samoan male living in Swansea, United Kingdom.

Alexander Bromstead was a college student at Welkard University when first infected, with the majority of his experiences being recorded on his online accounts. An excerpt is recorded.

I look at my hands. I can remember them because they are not Amantha's hands.

My mother is becoming increasingly difficult to picture, because she is not Amantha's mother.

The figure in the mirror is not worth remembering. It is not Amantha.
