Containment Protocol: RPC-316's corpse is stored in Site-089's morgue, in a clearly demarcated freezer unit. Markings are to include notices that the corpse of RPC-316 bears mild cognitohazardous properties that manifest upon observing it, and that it was never a member of significance within the RPC Authority.

If required, RPC-316's corpse is to be examined and studied while under the influence of viderics - only light doses are required. Should foreign medical research personnel of non-Japanese ethnicity be present, they should be prioritized to participate or lead said examination.

Description: RPC-316 is a corpse of a deceased entity that bore the same numbering. Prior to its neutralization, RPC-316 possessed two advanced perception-altering properties: The first allowed it to travel anywhere without being noticed by human senses, while the second caused any human who noticed RPC-316 to recognize it as the utmost leader of said individual's affiliation.

It used these anomalous powers to great effect, causing disruptions across Japanese RPC sites as it took advantage in ordering and consuming exorbitant amounts of high-class food whilst commissioning extravagant goods and services at the severe expense of Authority funding. Authority accountants have so far estimated a grand total of USD $100+ billion in food and luxuries being ordered, with $440k successfully spent from Authority finances.

As it further explored what it could do with its influence over the Authority, RPC-316 escalated its abuse of power to perform a series of disastrous events for its own amusement:

• Attempting to commission prohibitively expensive custom-built luxury vehicles and site amenities for its own personal use, including a walking stick featuring the British royal crown jewels in its handle,
• Attempting to order the detonation of on-site nuclear warheads to "enjoy the fireworks",
• Attempting to order the execution of key personnel as a test of mesmerized personnel's loyalty,
• Attempting to take direct control of MST movements and command,
• Attempting to acquire other RPCs for its own personal use and cross-interaction,
• Attempting to take full control of the RPC Authority by supplanting itself over the Global Directorate,
• The repeated access of level 4 and 5 information and numerous breaches of their classification in the process of "telling jokes", and more.

While it thankfully did not succeed in the aforementioned attempts above thanks to the Authority's bureaucratic checks and protocols, it nevertheless succeeded in temporarily unsealing RPC-257. This resulted in uncountable entities reanimating from RPC-257's temporal stasis effect, successfully escaping the cavern complex.

In its current deceased state, RPC-316's anomalous properties appear to have greatly diminished. Personnel who view the corpse perceive fleeting senses of sadness or shock, but recover soon after. A very light dose of mild viderics nullifies this effect entirely.

Termination Log: The following is a conjectural step-by-step timeline of RPC-316's neutralization, based on the following: Eyewitness accounts, recordings of Project Blue Book's extermination operation of RPC-316's anomalous congregation, forensics investigation of RPC-316's site of death and an autopsy examination of RPC-316's body and injuries.

1. RPC-316's gathering is halted by a blockade of Blue Book exterminators organized in a pincer ambush.¹
2. Blue Book opens fire, followed by a salvo of stinger missiles.² RPC-316's right side is caught in a blast radius, sustaining burn, shrapnel and explosion injuries.
3. RPC-316 abandons its panicking congregation to Blue Book's exterminators. It is trampled and injured further in the chaos.
4. RPC-316 escapes into an alleyway shortly before Blue Book command authorizes the usage of napalm incendiaries. RPC-486, RPC-886's sister, is waiting for it.
5. RPC-486 stabs RPC-316 through the back with a knife taken from a nearby restaurant.
6. RPC-486 follows up by puncturing RPC-316's throat, cutting its neck open while severing its jugulars and vocal cords.
7. RPC-486 throws RPC-316 to the ground, stabbing it in the chest repeatedly while it attempts to fend RPC-486 off.
8. RPC-486 issues a final stab into RPC-316's eye, penetrating its brain. RPC-316 is neutralized.

RPC-316's corpse would be found afterwards by a Blue Book cleanup crew, causing confusion and agitation among their ranks as to why the corpse of their "Alpha-Class Founder" was among the neutralized entities. During a heated dispute with Blue Book command over accusations of being manipulated into assassinating said "Founder", embedded RPC agents successfully exfiltrate the outpost with RPC-316's corpse. An investigation of the murder site found the discarded knife.

Interviewer: Dr. Yoshizawa Hinako

Foreword: Dr. Hinako approached RPC-486's den without being subjected to the customary insult or taunting. RPC-486 appeared listless, sitting beside its burrow entry.

Yoshizawa: Hello, Mishio. You really look like you've seen better days.

RPC-486: If you're going to call me by my name and not by that stupid number, it's obvious that you're playing nice for something. Go away.

Yoshizawa: You know that's not how this works. I have to talk to you about something urgent. I'll wait here, and if you don't jinx or throw something at me I'll proceed. Okay?

[ RPC-486 does not respond. ]

Yoshizawa: All right. I'll start. What can you tell me of what happened at Kyoto?

RPC-486: The bastards who tried to kill Shiomi had the time of their lives splitting apart a few hundred other Yōkai. What else do you want to know?

Yoshizawa: Aside from that, we want to know what happened to the old man. He was killed, you see. But not by gunfire. We found a bloody knife close to where his corpse was. The fingerprints on its handle are a headache to read, suggestive of being held by a shapeshifter. Bits of your hair, or fur, in his fingers…

[ RPC-486 does not respond. ]

Yoshizawa: Mishio… Was it you who killed him?

[ RPC-486 remains silent. ]

Yoshizawa: We're not angry or anything like that. We just want to know what happened that night, if you are willing to tell us. You were there in Kyoto when everything went down, weren't you? You tried to warn them all, according to survivor accounts.

RPC-486: I tried. Everybody in that Hyakki Yakko. Nobody listened and they paid for it with their lives.

Yoshizawa: Why did you do it, Mishio? Why did you do what you did to him?

RPC-486: Kyoto… It wasn't going to stop him. Sooner or later, he'd wave it all away, crawl out from wherever he hid in, make another stupid party somewhere else. Do it all over again. Or worse, he'd try and seek revenge. Not even for the deaths. Just for ruining his fun.

Yoshizawa: So you stopped him before he became a threat to us all.

RPC-486: Don't misunderstand! I didn't do it for you humans… I did it for Shiomi. For my family. If that old idiot started a war between Yōkai and humans, we'd… none of us would survive. Shiomi wouldn't be safe. I did it to protect Shiomi and our family. Everybody else can be damned for all I care!

Yoshizawa: I wouldn't believe I'd actually say this to you, but… Regardless of your intents, thank you on behalf of mankind and the Authority.

RPC-486: Yeah, yeah, it was nothing… Old fart wasn't really even a king anyway.

Yoshizawa: That aside. In consideration of your deed, we have had a talk and… decided to grant you scheduled visitation rights with your sister. And we will also be toning down on the, ah, antics to get you out when you overstay your welcome.

RPC-486: No more 'Dominance-Asserting'? WOO!

Yoshizawa: Wait-Before you celebrate, I have one last important question for you: When you killed him, do you think there could be some ramifications to his death? Does he have allies who will seek revenge for what you did?

RPC-486: Friends? Of his? No way. He only has idiots and sycophants who'd follow his parties and butter up to him, and they were all a bit too busy dying to notice. I'll be fine.

Yoshizawa: I see. Again, thank you, Mishio.

RPC-486: Mmmm, yessss. Praise me again!

Yoshizawa: Don't push your luck.

Kill-squads, assassins, snipers. The most ruthless of the Authority's ruthless, ready to do anything it would take to kill off that old man, given all means to do so. Poisons that killed in nanograms. RPC containment override codes. Guns galore and bombs aplomb. There's a casualty log we've bloodied our hands with: Innocent and good personnel who have been harmed in the process of attempting to assassinate this entity. A list that is never going to be made known of.

And in the end we find him dead, reduced to a pincushion. From a kitchen knife. By one of his own "subjects", no less.

Quite fitting though, isn't it? Hold on, I feel a metaphor coming on.

He dies quietly, unseen and unheard in a dark alleyway; this so-called king who'd rule us non-subjects through lies and falsehoods, while leading his actual subjects to their doom in his selfish bid to "have a good time", finally being murdered by another one of his "subjects"…

Now dead and doomed to be forgotten for good, exactly like the Nurihyon that he is. A poetic end, really.

Anyway. You're not here for my terrible literature skills. You're here because you too realize the implications of what could have come to pass, the worst-case scenarios we narrowly avoided.

This feeble old entity that a child could take on in a fistfight and win? His personality, actions, and abuse of both his and our powers nearly caused the Authority to implode in a misguided civil war and insurgency.

Imagine what could have happened had we A) Not decommissioned the nuclear warhead failsafe protocol, and B) Included such a failsafe in one of the Japanese sites!

We've learned a valuable lesson out of all this: Never again.

If we ever get any hint that another Class IX entity like him ever shows up once more? We'll be unleashing [REDACTED] from the get-go.

1. It is not known how Blue Book was made aware of this gathering and assembled in the correct location - it is suspected a mole within Authority ranks may have tipped them off.

2. How Blue Book personnel were unaffected by RPC-316's cognitohazardous effect remains unknown. Two explanations persist that: 1) Said effects may have been suppressed by the vast numbers of fellow anomalous beings, OR that 2) RPC-316 had intentionally deactivated its perception-alteration power while underestimating the danger.
