Description: RPC-000 is the designation for an approximately 70 cm tall gramophone, made in the Late 1950's. RPC-000's horn is made from polished spruce wood. RPC-000 displays relatively little signs of damage or degradation, despite dating back to ~1956. RPC-000 displays no deviations from a standard model of its type and is superficially non-anomalous in appearance. A vinyl record can be seen spinning on RPC-000's turntable, and has proven impossible to halt or remove. This record spins at an extremely fast pace, making standard visual identification difficult. High-motion cameras have revealed the record to lack grooves, and have a label that reads "MUSIQUE!"¹. A scratching sound can be occasionally heard emanating from within RPC-000, the source of said sound unknown.

RPC-000's primary anomalous attribute is activated when an individual within 5 meters of RPC-000 utters a phrase in the form of a request. This request must be for a specific song or tune to be played, or else RPC-000's anomalous properties will not activate. When an individual requests a song to be played, the aforementioned song will begin emanating from RPC-000's horn. Individuals can request for the song to loop, starting over when ending.

In the circumstance of an individual entering REM sleep while listening to RPC-000, the individual² will experience a vivid dream in which they are situated in an area that metaphysically portrays the current song they were listening to before they fell asleep. This dream will typically last for 1 – 4 minutes for the individual.

In all cases, the dream ends with the individual's dream self being lethally attacked by an unidentified entity. This entity has been described as being pitch black in coloration, and possessing white eyes that "glow" brightly. See Addendum 000.2 for more information.

INITIAL RECOVERY

RPC-000 was originally recovered on 9/26/1997 after a raid on a known facility in Périgueux, France, belonging to the Group of Interest, the Anomalous Phenomena Acquisition Society³. This facility was operated by many members of APAS, who soon fled during the raid. Two members known as Raphael Linville and Victor Neidelle were captured and brought in for questioning.

JENFORD: State your names, and the date. It's for archival purposes.

LINVILLE: Raphael Linville, September 27th, 1997.

NEIDELLE: Victor Neidelle, what he said.

JENFORD: If you would like to cooperate, could you answer a few questions for us?

NEIDELLE: Uh-huh.

JENFORD: Glad to hear. Right, first question: The gramophone. Do you have anything to say about it?

LINVILLE: I have no idea what you're talking about.

JENFORD: Raphael.

LINVILLE: Seriously, what are you talking abou– ow!

[Victor Neidelle is observed to punch Raphael in the arm.]

LINVILLE: Fine, I confess. We had a gramophone. We kept it in the main lounge. [Glances bitterly at Victor]

JENFORD: Good, good. And did this gramophone do anything… out of the ordinary?

LINVILLE: Of course it did. We collect anomalies, what did you expect?

JENFORD: Mmmm, yeah. [Pauses] Anyway, what did it do?

NEIDELLE: It?

LINVILLE: She's talking about the gramophone, Victor.

NEIDELLE: Ri– right. I know.

[Silence.]

NEIDELLE: Back at our place, it was called the "Tuner". It could do a lot of things, as long as it was music-related. You say the name of a song, and it plays that song. It could be any song you want, doesn't matter how old or new. The songs could be looped as well.

LINVILLE: Wasn't the Tuner almost always playing?

NEIDELLE: Yes. Every time we walked in, that thing was still going. Usually something that that damn Ignace liked.

LINVILLE: Him? God, didn't he always hog the Tuner and play the same 3 songs over and over again?

NEIDELLE: [Laughs] No surprise he was kicked out. Nobody liked him.

JENFORD: Ahem. [Taps desk with pen] Getting a little off-topic here.

NEIDELLE: I– [Pauses] …oh, right.

LINVILLE: Yes, miss.

JENFORD: [Glares at Raphael] Don't call me that. Where did you get this "Tuner"?

LINVILLE: If we have to be honest, no clue. Most info on the Tuner isn't allowed — we aren't allowed to know. That's business for the higher-ups.

JENFORD: Most?

[Raphael and Victor both tense up.]

NEIDELLE: [Leans in closer to Caroline] Listen, we'll give you a whole heap of money if you end the interview right here.

JENFORD: I don't care.

NEIDELLE: Please.

JENFORD: Nah.

NEIDELLE: Ugh. Fine. Raphael, why don't you explain it to this kind lady?

LINVILLE: [Sighs] You see, the Tuner also messes with your dreams.

JENFORD: How so?

LINVILLE: It makes your dreams related to the songs it's playing. Like, if you played Here Comes The Sun, you'd have a dream about watching the sun come up. Do you get it?

JENFORD: I think so.

LINVILLE: Good.

JENFORD: Why were you so keen to not let me have this information?

LINVILLE: Uhh…

NEIDELLE: Our group is secret, you know. It's sort of a habit.

JENFORD: Alright. Well, thank you for cooperating mostly.

NEIDELLE: You're welcome.

LINVILLE: What he said.

It's a gramophone that you can request songs to be played from. Any song can be played from it. If someone falls asleep while listening to a song, they will have a dream where they are inside the world and events of the song. A strange entity always kills or attacks them at the end of the dream, and throughout the test logs, this entity can be seen evolving/changing in a way.

RPC-000 was recovered from an APAS facility. There's an interview with a member of APAS, who says that the gramophone was an extraordinary device that could play any song at request.

At the end of the article, there could be an event where the entity gets out. There are scratch marks found around the horn of RPC-000.
