Containment Protocols: RPC-052 is currently uncontainable. All efforts are to be directed toward concealing the existence and nature of RPC-052 from the non-anomalous scientific community. Authority Satellite Odin-V, currently located in ████ █████, has been assigned for the monitoring of RPC-052. The AEDFS Farsight has been assigned to repair, modify, and study data recovered from Odin-V.

Information recovered from Odin-V is to be transmitted to the moon in enclosed systems to Site-019. All information regarding RPC-052 is to be stored within Site-019’s Deep Information Well.

Description: RPC-052 is an extrasolar planetary body located approximately ███ light-years from Earth. The object was first catalogued in ████ by Authority-affiliated astronomers Dr. John ██████ and Dr. Amanda ███ during deep-field stellar mapping operations. RPC-052 is currently observed orbiting ███ █████, a Class O blue supergiant star. Preliminary observations indicate that the object maintains a stable orbital trajectory despite environmental conditions that would typically render planetary formation and long-term stability improbable.

Current observational data indicates that RPC-052’s anomalous effects are confined to the planetary body and a limited proximal region of surrounding space. No anomalous activity has been observed elsewhere within its parent stellar system.

Spectroscopic and telemetry readings suggest the presence of multiple continental landmasses and hydrospheric features; however, these appear to undergo continuous large-scale morphological changes. Recorded alterations include shifts in mass distribution, topography, chemical composition, and planetary albedo. Comparative spectral analyses taken between ██/██/19██ and ██/██/19██ document at least ███ discrete surface reconfigurations.

Data obtained via ODIN-V’s modified Anderson-Eckhardt Coherency Readers confirms that RPC-052 exists in a persistent state of coherency instability. The local ACS measurement fluctuates between ACS-1 and ACS-4 under normal observation. On ██/██/19██, RPC-052’s ACS value briefly reached 0.00001, resulting in [DATA EXPUNGED]. Following this event, remote monitoring systems were updated with automated failsafe cutoff protocols.

Spatial distortions and gravitic irregularities are routinely observed within RPC-052’s orbital field. These disruptions periodically alter the object's orbital velocity and eccentricity without expected stellar gravitational response. In addition, transient secondary bodies of varying size, albedo, and orbital pattern have been detected entering synchronous or near-synchronous orbit around RPC-052 before vanishing or disintegrating. Current working theory suggests these objects may represent one or more lunar bodies subject to RPC-052’s anomalous state.

A joint Authority-NuCorp initiative is underway for the development and deployment of long-range micro-probe satellites capable of interstellar traversal. Prototypes are planned to utilize propulsion via the SoARn Laser Installation Control Facility. Projected operational velocity is estimated at ██% the speed of light, permitting estimated arrival within ██ years of launch.

The Authority has allocated $75,000,000 USD in funding and assigned thirty personnel comprising of engineers, physicists, and applied mathematicians to assist NuCorp in system design and mission planning. Pending final material stress testing and coherency shielding validation, initial launch is tentatively scheduled for January 21, 2032.

Addendum 052.A: Observation Log A
On 01/01/████, Odin-V captured the complete transmutation of the elements that compose RPC-052’s atmosphere and land masses into various singular elements composing the planet. The phenomenon was first observed during a spectrographic observation of the planet. During a routine spectrographic observation of RPC-052, the spectrographic equipment onboard Odin-V detected multiple shifts in the emission spectrum of the entire planet over the course of three months. Reviewing the data collected by the crew of the AEDFS Farsight, it was confirmed that the elements composing the planet were transmuting into a singular element over a course of time. Below is a document recording each element over the course of three weeks.

Addendum 052.B: Incident 052-A
On 03/25/████, a signal was detected by multiple Authority and non-Authority facilities originating from RPC-052. This caused the Authority’s biggest use of Class A-1² amnestics for that year. The signal was discovered to contain the audio of three unknown entities speaking in English. Below is a recording of the audio.

After receiving the signal, Authority personnel have come up with many hypotheses. The most popular hypothesis is that the audio depicts RPC-052 achieving sapience.

Addendum 052.C: Incident 052-B
On 11/21/████, the life monitoring systems onboard the AEDFS Farsight reported no life signals onboard the craft. One (1) hour after the loss of life onboard the Farsight, the craft registered damage across itself originating internally. On 09/17/████, the crew of the AEDFS Alabaster arrived at the location of the AEDFS Farsight to investigate the ship. Multiple holes were found in different sections of the ship. Investigation of Odin-V revealed major damage to the satellites mainframe. The crew of the AEDFS Alabaster also found multiple hard leather books floating around the AEDFS Farsight and Odin-V. Twelve books were discovered by the crew of the Alabaster. Each book contained the name of a crew member of the AEDFS Farsight. The books were collected and are currently being studied for any anomalous properties.

Addendum 052.D Incident 052-C
On 12/01/████, Dr. John ██████ and Amanda ███ were reported missing by colleagues and family members. An investigation was launched and Authority agents were sent to their homes. Agents sent to Dr. Amanda ███’s household discovered it burned down.

Agents sent to Dr. John ██████’s household discovered a crater measuring 4 m². The agents discovered a hard leather bound document in the center of the crater. The documemt was taken to Site-███ and designated RPC-052-A-01. Excerpts of the document may be found below.

I was never meant to die, but I knew about the Impossible Thing and it took me. It will take all who know. It makes all into watchers. I believe that is what I am now. I’m an entity with no free will of my own. I’m a soul trapped in an unresponsive body. I’ve been walking for what seems like years through void filled rivers and burning seas only for only one purpose. What that purpose is will not reveal itself until I arrive wherever I am forced to go. Though I’ve traveled for years I’ve never required water or any type of sustenance and I don’t think I really need it. Watchers do not require sustenance because our only purpose is to observe and think.

I recently came across Amanda while crossing a large black tundra. I saw a large creature that resembled that of brachiosaurus with multiple heads. As I approached the creature something became apparent. Multiple smaller creatures could be seen moving on its body. The closer I got to the creature the size of the creature became apparent. It was almost the size of the Empire State Building in New York, but I came to also realize something else. The small creatures weren’t moving around the larger creature, they were fused to it. Multiple writhing bodies moving in unending torment. In one of the large feet of the creature I saw her. Amanda was fused to the creatures foot by her torso. We made eye contact and I studied her expression less face. Unlike the other organisms fused to the creature, she did not show any pain. I walked pass her as we continued to make eye contact. Neither of us made any attempt to get closer to each for I was being pulled to an unknown location by a call I can not describe. I passed the creature as its loud foot steps shook the ground below me and I continued onward to a location unknown in this hell of a planet.

The following documents have been CLASSIFIED. Access to this document has been made forbidden to all non-Black Site personnel.

Operation Guide

This file exists to explain to the viewing personnel what is RPC-052 and the viewing party should accept their immediate amnestization.

The Authority Black Site is responsible for performing all operations that the Global Directors must not have direct or complete oversight of, for their own safety. Currently, all over sight of RPC-052 has been tasked to the Authority’s Black Site. The following procedures are followed to ensure the safety of all Authority personnel.

1. All information regarding RPC-052 outside of these documents is to be redacted.
2. All personnel with knowledge of RPC-052 are to be amnestisized including Black Site personnel.
3. Black Site personnel are to operate with no knowledge of the anomaly.
4. MST X-Ray-7 (“Agamemnon”)⁵ is to be alerted to when the 052 documents are accessed. X-Ray-7 are to administer the appropriate class of Amnestics related to how long a subject was exposed to RPC-052.

All information regarding RPC-052 was transferred from Site-019 to Black Site-001. Due to RPC-052 anomalous properties, no plans to study it are planned nor are to be planned.

Description: RPC-052 is a highly anomalous interstellar planet located 9.8 lightyears away from Earth discovered during the 20th century by Authority astronomers John Caracal and Amanda Theresa. RPC-052 orbits Caracal-Theresa, a blue giant star. [DATA EXPUNGED FOR BREVITY]⁶.

Subjects aware of RPC-052’s existence are designated RPC-052-♥ instances. At random, an RPC-052-♥ will spontaneously lose all visible life functions. After a period of 5 to 10 seconds later a spatial anomaly will expand from RPC-052-♥ to 3 m³ engulfing anything in this range. The spatial distortion will immediately collapse taking all matter previously engulfed by it including the RPC-052-♥ instance. Due to this property of RPC-052, no examinations can be conducted on deceased RPC-052-♥.

During the examination of the spatial phenomenon, Researcher Blanca conducted a test on an RPC-052-♥ instance. A tracking device was attached and the instance was observed for years before the manifestation of RPC-052 spatial phenomena. Once the RPC-052-♥ and the tracking device were caught in the collapse of the spatial distortion, the tracking device signal was immediately detected by Authority satellites in located near Neptune. Investigation of the origin of the signal reveals it originating from RPC-052. Information contained within the signal from the tracking device also reveals that the RPC-052-♥ is active upon the surface of the planet.

The detection of the signal lead to the following discoveries:

• RPC-052-♥ instances are reanimated upon arrival on the planet.
• The spatial anomaly takes anything engulfed by it to RPC-052.
• Objects taken by the spatial anomaly are not only spatially displaced, but also temporally due to the signal being detected fifty minutes after Researcher Blanca’s tracking device experiment.

Due to the risk of the knowledge of RPC-052, the Black Site division took control of the RPC-052 project and conducted a mass amnestization operation which saw the administration of Class R⁷ amnestics to all Authority and NuCorp personnel with knowledge of RPC-052 including the Global Directorate. During this operation the current RPC-052 article was created for Black Site archival purposes. The number of RPC-052-♥ instances claimed by RPC-052 is currently 17 Authority personnel. Black Site personnel with knowledge of RPC-052 are ordered to self amnestisize after the completion of the amnestization operation.

+ RPC-052 Discovery File

RPC-052 was first identified on January 3rd, 1970 by Authority astronomers John Caracal and Amanda Theresa during deepfield observation conducted at the Authority-funded Telionis Deep Space Observatory. Initial observations catalogued RPC-052 as an extrasolar planetary body orbiting a Class O blue supergiant. Unusual behaviors in the planet’s orbital pattern were noted. RPC-052 exhibited non-Keplerian motion, including abrupt deviations in velocity and trajectory inconsistent with known gravitational models. Continued observation over the following decade revealed additional anomalous properties, including:

• Inconsistent orbital period relative to its parent star
• Apparent positional drift when observed across separate instruments
• Intermittent fluctuations in luminosity not attributable to stellar interference

On April 7th, 1983, the stellar body was given RPC designation as RPC-052. Oversight of the RPC-052 project was assigned to John Caracal and Amanda Theresa. On June 13th, 1989, NuCorp was contracted to develop specialized parascientific instrumentation for the purpose of long-range study and analysis of the anomaly. Installation of this equipment resulted in a significant increase in data fidelity, allowing for continuous monitoring of RPC-052.

Following integration of NuCorp systems, previously undetected phenomena were recorded, including low-frequency signal emissions originating from the planetary surface. Attempts to decode these transmissions were inconclusive.

On September 16th, 1990, both John Caracal and Amanda Theresa simultaneously ceased all observable biological activity while present within Observatory Control Room. Security footage confirms the manifestation of a localized spatial distortion approximately 5–10 seconds following loss of vital signs. The anomaly expanded to an estimated volume of 3 m³ before collapsing, removing both individuals and all nearby equipment.
John Caracal and Amanda Theresa are designated the first confirmed RPC-052-♥ instances.

In the immediate aftermath of the event, a physical document was recovered. The document was not present prior to the spatial anomaly and does not correspond to any known material within the observatory. Preliminary analysis identified the document as a first-hand account authored by John Caracal, detailing his experiences following arrival on RPC-052. The contents describe a hostile and unstable environment characterized by extreme atmospheric conditions, non-Euclidean terrain, and the presence of unidentified entities. Multiple sections of the document are incoherent or structurally inconsistent with known language.

Following the disappearance of Caracal and Theresa, additional personnel assigned to the RPC-052 project began to dissappear. Subsequent disappearances occurred at irregular intervals, all consistent withthe previously observed spatial displacement event that took John Caracal and Amanda Theresa. At this time, a total of 17 RPC-052 personnel have dissappeared.

+ RPC-052 Interview File

On December 11th, 1991, a spatial anomaly was detected within the Telionis Deep Space Observatory. John Caracal re-manifested within the lobby of the observatory. The subject appeared unclothed and in a state of severe physiological distress. Observatory security personnel detained Caracal without resistance and transferred him to Site-X for containment and evaluation.

Caracal was placed within a standard humanoid containment chamber and monitored for anomalous activity. Initial medical assessment indicated extensive malnourishment, dermal damage consistent with prolonged environmental exposure, and multiple unidentified lesions exhibiting irregular cellular structure. Despite this, the subject appeared stable.

The site of manifestation, along with all personnel who came into contact with Caracal, were subjected to a mandatory 72hour quarantine. No additional anomalous effects were observed during the timeframe.

Agent Judan Mattias was assigned to conduct an initial interview with the returned John Caracal. Mattias entered the containment chamber equipped with a full hazmat suit and was accompanied by a security detail of three armed personnel stationed within the chamber. Upon entry, Caracal was observed positioned in the corner of the containment cell, exhibiting a strange calm. The interview can be found below

Agent Mattias: I hear you, but why shouldn't I be here, John?

John Caracal: Because learning about it… its an infection I think. I think that's how it got me. How it got Amanda.

Agent Mattias: Alright… when you say “learning about it”, what exactly do you mean? Is it the planet itself or something on it?

John Caracal: I don't know. I still don't know. I spent thousands of years wandering hard gaseous plains and neverborn lands looking for a reason why I was placed there. Nothing.

Agent Mattias: Thousands of years? You’ve been gone just over a year, John. Additionally, you don't look like you've aged a day. Does time move differently on RPC-052… or did it just feel like it did?

John Caracal: One year? No that can't be. I counted the days even when the sun ceased existing. Even on the days nothing but the planet existed within an empty universe. I counted. A year is just impossible.

[ John Caracal appears visibly confused. ]

Agent Mattias: Alright. Its okay. I believe you. Let me ask you… when you say the sun "ceased existing"… are you saying to witness RPC-052's star dissappear from the sky?

John Caracal: Dissappear, reappear, fade away, transmutate, bifurcate- the sun did everything. I… maybe it could be in my head. I know it doesn't make sense. I remember the sun disappearing once, but it still being day. Maybe… maybe the planet may be messing with what I saw?

Agent Mattias: That’s possible.

Agent Mattias: When things didn't make sense, the sun disappearing, but it still being day… was anything else still consistent? Additionally, can you give me a detailed explanation of what you saw on the planet?

John Caracal: Nothing was truly consistent. The landscapes, the atmosphere, the life; all was always everchanging. It was hell. It was none stop change. The planet changes everything, or maybe the things on the surface adapt to the changes of the planet. I once saw a mountain range collapse into a lake of liquid amonia, then the lake boiled into a thick cloud with tiny aquatic creatures sprouting wings to adapt to the new environment. That was one of the things I could actual understand. The planet showed me physics and entities so strange that any of the simple words I conjure wouldn't even describe a sliver of their strangeness. I believed I learned the words upon the planets surface too, but I believe speaking them would constitute some form of infohazard.

Agent Mattias: Wow that's… alot.

[ Agent Mattias reaches for a phone and dials a number. ]

Agent Mattias: Prepare a team and a quarantine room for us. Screen for possible memetic or infohazardous agents. We could be already compromised.

[ Agent Mattias places the phone away and returns his attention to John. ]

Agent Mattias: Let’s stay with what you can describe. You said the planet changes everything, or that things adapt to it. I need you to think carefully. Did you ever change?

John Caracal: I… I was always adapting. Transmutating. Sometimes my form was short and stout to adapt to high gravity, kinda like a dwarf.

[ John Caracal laughs to himself. ]

John Caracal: Sometimes I found myself with appendages made to glide through a gelatinous atmosphere.

John Caracal: I think once… so long ago I became a carnivorous thing. I'd witness a foreign craft crash onto the surface of the planet. I preyed upon the radioactive forms of the crew within.

John Caracal: The planet reshaped you. Not just the flesh, but also the mind. It's been so long since I've held human form. And I'm starting to understand why?

Agent Mattias: What are you beginning to understand?

John Caracal: I think the planet wants to be observed. Like any attention seeker, it does anything it can to be observed. Emitting signals of all sorts, constantly changing its form… I think its trying to get the attention of someone, anyone that is willing to look.

Agent Mattias: When you dissappeared, we found a document supposedly written by you. You wrote something similar. Are you implying the planet wants to be 'seen?

[ John Caracal stares at Agent Mattias silently for 10 seconds. ]

John Caracal: Document? I didn't write any document.

Agent Mattias: Are you sure? The documents seem similar to your work. And it describes RPC-052 to nearly the same detail as your describing it now. It even says you encountered Amanda there.

[ Silence for 7 seconds. ]

John Caracal: I never ran into Amanda… What are you… oh.

Agent Mattias: John?

John Caracal: Amanda… is she gone?

Agent Mattias: Yes, alongside currently 17 other personnel related to the RPC-052 project. But-

John Caracal: Burn everything. The document. Any and all related to the planet. You need to get an amnestics team ready now!

Agent Mattias: John, what are you saying?

John Caracal: Its in the data. Knowing of the planet is itself a trap. Its an infohazard.

[ John walks toward Agent Mattias and the armed security team. The team raises there weapons. ]

John Caracal: Jesus, its all bait. Everything! Even m-

[ John Caracal, Agent Mattias, and the three armed security personnel vanish from the room. ]

GD-ANTC: I meant what's the protocol? Are we just to going to forget about 052? What if someone outside of the Authority rediscovers it?

GD-████: Then hopefully it takes them all.

[ Silence for 15 seconds. ]

GD-████: Don't worry, that was just a joke. Containment of 052 is being left to an automated process. If it flags anything with data relating to 052, Agamemnon will be dispatched to contain and amnestisize. All information will be moved to a Black Site.

GD-ANTC: And?

GD-████: And what?

GD-ANTC: What if 052 changes? What if it suddenly starts affecting devices with information on it? What if it neutralizes our webcrawlers? Are we just giving up? This is the one we let get away?

GD-████: What if? What if 052 takes the entire planet without need of knowing of its existence? What if it knocks out all Authority data centers that contain any scrap of information regarding it? Its all speculation and fear.

GD-████: But no, we haven't given up just yet.

GD-ANTC: What do you mean?

GD-████: A final contingency to monitor 052. Lone and isolated observers scattered across the solar system. Keeping an eye on the planet, documenting it, and transmitting back the information once the observers stop reporting.

GD-ANTC: Jesus… its cruel.

GD-████: But necessary. One day, I believe, we'll prevail over threats like 052, but for the time being, this is all we can do.

GD-████: Come. It's our time.
