Containment Protocols: RPC-XXX is currently located in Site-15's Light containment area. RPC-XXX's containment cell must be painted with a diverse pallete of pastel colors1 to avoid suspicion of containment by RPC-XXX. RPC-XXX's access to content is to be restricted to the one allowed by lead researcher, Dr. Cohen. To avoid stun in the development of RPC-XXX, once a day, 6 hours classes are to be given by psychologists approved by Site-15's RnD chief, Dr. Clause. To avoid extreme muscular development, excercise2 is restricted to once two weeks. As RPC-XXX can consume everything, It can have regular cafeteria lunch, two times a day. Iq exams must be performed once every two months to find any abnormal increase in intelligence. If it's the case, amnestics class-b must be given to RPC-XXX. Any research or experiment is currently denied.
Description: RPC-XXX is the designation to two different entities. RPC-XXX-A is a collective hive mind of approximately 5,000,000 Blatella Germanicas3 ,and RPC-XXX-B is the sentient corpse of late Dr. Robert Portillo, which is the present habitat of RPC-XXX-A instances.
RPC-XXX-A demonstrates an incredible resistance and quick adaptation to extreme circumstances, such as starvation, radiation, extreme temperatures and such. It is important to note that the present resistance RPC-XXX-A has developed to these conditions has evolved thanks to experiments previously conducted by Dr. Portillo. When exposed to these enviroments, approximately 15% of the specimens only survived, then they were left to reproduce and form a new generation, and the chances for survival increased 20% each generation.
In the latest stages of the research, certain number of RPC-XXX-A's instances started to compose messages in the form a rudimentary morse code and emoticons, probably learned from the facial expressions and messages used by the research team. This initiated the theory that established RPC-XXX-A's evolution became so finesse that it was developing self-concious, which later would be confirmed after incident XXX-07.
RPC-XXX-B is the sentient corpse of late Dr. Robert Portillo, currently inhabitated by RPC-XXX-A. Dr. Portillo supposedly perished on 06/01/2007 at 4:00 pm, but one day later, during the autopsy of the body, most of the instances of RPC-XXX-A were found throughout the vital organs of the corpse. Returned to the research laboratory of RPC-XXX-A in site-15. RPC-XXX-B stayed in for approximately one month before was designed as a Beta class anomaly and given an appropiate containment procedure. During this time, RPC-XXX-B completely healed from its injuries, and one week later after the incident, It could form small syllables. One week before containment, RPC-XXX-B had basic motor skills and could speak basic english.
RPC-XXX-B still has the basic needs any human needs to survive. All of the vital functions have been retaken by RPC-XXX-A. RPC-XXX-A works in RPC-XXX-B as a complex hierarchy. Most of the instances of RPC-XXX-A are split into the vital functions of the various systems of the body, such as the circulatory system, digestive system and the muscular system. Most of this functions are active thanks to the fact that RPC-XXX-A instances have replaced the nervious system in its entirety. RPC-XXX-A instances have also developed unique abilites depending in which system they serve, for example, those that work on the digestive system are completely inmune to the acid present in the stomach. RPC-XXX-B also shows an abnormally fast restauration of damaged tissue, healing small4 injuries in minutes and major ones5 in weeks. The specifications of this procedure, and the other activities RPC-XXX-A perform in RPC-XXX-B, cannot be made clear because of the limitations the containment procedure made to the research (as a research or experiment hasn't been approved in the last 14 years).
The exception to this rule is the nervious system. On the 21/06/2010, an avanced x-ray scan was approved to be performed in RPC-XXX-B's brain. The purpose was to try to analyse and detect the functions RPC-XXX-A had on RPC-XXX-B's main cerebral zone. The results showed that only 15,000 of the 5,000,000 instances work on the brain. These 15,000 instances have also aquired the ability to produce electric energy, approximately a potential energy of -60 to -70 mV6. The research team was able to extract some ot these special instances of RPC-XXX-A from RPC-XXX-B. Interactions between themselves showed they communicate through a complex and unique morse code composed of small bursts of electric energy. The research team was able to decipher the message, which read:
>"Currently position unknown"
>"Wait until normal operations are resumed"
Even though each instance of RPC-XXX-A is capable of small communication, RPC-XXX still considers itself as a singular entity, identifying itself as RPC-XXX. Through the years, RPC-XXX developed its own personality, being curious, but calm. Psychologists have diagnosed that RPC-XXX currently has the mental age of a 6 year old.
Discovery: RPC-XXX-A was discovered through agents of the MST Charlie-9 "Countryside Hypocrites". Local news around █████, Norht Carolina, talked about a circus act of "wonder cockroaches" who presumably could stand "even the wrath of god". RPC-XXX-A was detained from the circus ringmaster, █████, and put on observation. Dr. Portillo stated that the Authority was lucky to found RPC-XXX-A in such a primitive state of evolution, only growing a medium resistance to fire. Amnestics class-G were given to the circus crew.
Addendum "XXX-79 incident": During the events of a containment breach, Dr. Portillo had a nervious breakdown. He locked himself in the research room dedicated to RPC-XXX-A (during that time, RPC-XXX). Dr. Portillo have been directing experiments in which certain controlled populations of RPC-XXX-A were placed on a silicone bowl, and exposed to different extreme enviroments (radiation, extreme temperatures, starvation, etc.) to analyse its evolving and adaptability to said circumstances. Previous to the containment breach, Dr. Portillo have been dealing with a complicated divorce and his █████ █████. Security authorities stated that during that time, Dr. Portillo showed some panic and anxiety attacks. Documents also stated that he brought a personal gun to the Authority's facilities, and was admonished for this. He ignored the warnings and continue to bring it anyways. Dr. Portillo remained locked in the cell for one hour before he shot himself near the left eye. Medical services found him layed on the empty broken silicone containers. The site director ordered a search for RPC-XXX-A and mantained some of the site's sections closed, meanwhile, the corpse of Dr. Portillo was transported to site-15's medical wing morgue. One day later, RPC-XXX-A instances were found inside Dr. Portillo's corpse during the authopsy. Dr. Portillo's body was transported to site 15's habitat containment wing and was reassignated as RPC-XXX-B. Dr. Andrew Cohen, the previous assitant of Dr. Robert, was deemed the new research leader.
Addendum "RPC-XXX-2": The research team of RPC-XXX presented a complain on 17/09/2010 to the site-15's director of RnD , Dr. Nathaniel Clause, about the limitations they had on the research and the infantilized treatment RPC-XXX was receiving. The director's answer was the following:
"I know you are all wanting to make the most in a research of such as interesting specimen as RPC-XXX, but is extremely important to mantain an objective posture on such delicate creature as this is. We are talking of a living being able to withstand dangers such as nuclear energy, fire and kinetic forces, and with infinity potential of intelligence. The Authority doesn't want to be overwhelmed with an army of 2,000,000 cockroaches inmune to everything, impossible to be contained. That's why we are being extremely careful when meddling with RPC-XXX, as we do not only want to contain it, but to also assure that we are molding a concious being both safe to the Authority and humanitiy. I have spoken with Dr. Cohen to talk to you about this, but I hope tackling the issue directly will make things clearer"
