Site-023
Military Support & Research and Development
Overview
Established: 13 July, 1909
Front Cover: Eramet S.A. Mining Site
Location: Meyronnes, France
Codename: Mine Shaft
Hex-code: [17]
Site Occupation: Military installation, Beta/Gamma-level research
Division Jurisdiction: WESTCOM [Research and Protection]
Total Area: 1,620,000 m2
Facility: 1,616,500 m2
Surrounding Land/Water: 3,500 m2
Background Information: Large maximum security facility used to contain Beta and Gamma class objects. Site-023 is powered by █ Uranium U-235 Pressurized Heavy-water Reactors and is defended with several on-site Bofors 57mm Anti-Aircraft guns, AIM-9 Sidewinder heat-seeking missiles, and AIM-120 AMRAAM active radar guided missiles. Most of the site is located underground. In the event of a containment breach any portion of Site-23 can be flooded in less than a minute.
History: Site-023 was originally operated by Eramet S.A. from 1892 through 1906. After being mined out, the Authority took over the site and began operations to expand the facility. Over time the site was expanded to have underground naval docks and hangers for planes and automobiles. The site currently has 3 hangars and an aircraft runway.
Offices & Wings Section
- Surface Level — The surface is almost completely hidden, with the exception of 2 blast doors, 3 hangars, and a runway for aircraft. The 1.5 km long runway next to the hangars is used to accommodate various medium and large aircraft transporting supplies in and out of Site-023.
- Command Level — This level is separated into two wings: The Administrative Wing and the Vestibule Wing. The Administrative Wing is used to manage the entire facility of Site-023 and is strictly off limits except for personnel with Level 5 security clearance, Head Researchers and/or admitted personnel.
- General-Purpose Level — This level is divided into 2 main wings: The Storage Wing and the Concession Wing. The Storage Wing consists of an archive sector for various documents and a warehouse sector, mainly used to store damaged and/or obsolete equipment before being transported into the dumping grounds. The Concession Wing features a large mess hall and recreational lounges for on-break personnel.
- Research and Laboratories Level — Separated into three sectors which include: Anomaly Research Sector, Biological and Chemical Research Sector, and Technological Advancements Sector. This level also features several private office spaces for Head Researchers and on-site experimentation chambers.
- Medical Level — Mainly used as a hospital for personnel. Also used to store medical supplies for requesting sites. Contains several advanced medical and surgical equipment along with several trained medical personnel.
- Security Level — Features briefing rooms and several offices for unit commanders and is used to store armaments and combat equipment.
- CSD Housing Level — Each CSD cell is 12 m2 in size to maximize personnel accommodation. Also features a mess hall maintained by CSD personnel on a rotating daily shift.
- Containment Level — This level is separated into two wings: The Terrestrial Wing and the Aquatic Wing. The Terrestrial Wing is used exclusively to contain land-based, air-breathing and hydrophobic anomalies. This wing is separated into four sectors based on the objects' classifications: Alpha Sector, Beta Sector, Gamma Sector and Omega Sector. The Aquatic Wing is used exclusively to contain amphibious, maritime and natatorial anomalies. Just like the Terrestrial Wing, this wing is also separated into four sectors based on the objects' classifications: Alpha Sector, Beta Sector, Gamma Sector and Omega Sector. The entirety of this wing is equipped with several bulkheads and emergency pumps in the case of a containment breach.
