The Next Anomalous State? Meet the Druid of Tyresta

During an excursion to Tyresta National Park, one class 2A student of Lögdea school gained the ability to "control plants", according to teachers. The student, Hugo Alfons, could reportedly manipulate the anatomy of vegetation, sprout berries, as well as heal certain injuries in his classmates. After growing familiar with his abilities, Hugo decided to drive the teachers out of the camp.

Alfons refused to allow adults into his enclave, announcing it a “country without grown-ups”. A thick foliage soon enveloped the area, prohibiting entry. Truly, any kid's dream.

"The kids are our responsibility, and the police don't believe us." As contacting the local authorities were of no use, one of the teachers reached out to our office for unusual and mystical happenings. This is when I responded, eager to see if this new country had any merit.

Three uneventful days after my arrival, the teachers' call for help was answered by the neighboring Society of Body and Mind. Priests from the Society approached Hugo's enclave as "envoys" wanting to engage in "diplomatic talks". After negotiations, the two groups merged.

The teachers initially attempted to still reach the children, but were soon acquiesced by the Global Authorities. The specifics of this is unknown. The parents of the children have refused to be interviewed.

WESTCOM had the situation under careful observation while preparing 3IU protocol. The Department of Parapsychology advised abstaining from recovering the children from the Society of Body and Mind.² The main argument was that Alfons had shown extraordinary, immensely threatening psychic biokineticism, and that the pacifist culture of the Society would nurture him positively. The parents and schoolteachers of the children were amnesticized.

Description: RPC-788 is the collective designation of an ongoing series of homicides, which bear similar or identical traits in their pathology and anomalous nature, that began on February 28th, 2026. Over 87% of RPC-788 cases have occurred within Stockholm County and surrounding residential areas.

A study observing RPC-788 victims concluded:

• RPC-788 victims are between the ages of 20 and 50 years old.
• All cases have occurred at night.
• The targeted residence was vacant, save for the victim.
• The cadaver is always located adjacent to a window, casement, or other aperture to the outside.
• The cadaver does not bleed.
• The cadaver does not decompose.
• The cadaver is missing either the head or the rest of the body.
• A handwritten note.

RPC-788 was originally assumed to be mundane serial killings without anomalous intervention. However, investigations failed to ascertain how the perpetrator entered the scene and lacerated their victims without causing them to bleed, nor why the victims' bodies did not decompose.

The quintessential RPC-788 mutilations are surgically complex. In cases where the head is left at the scene (Type A - more common at 80% of cases), the brainstem is conspicuously absent. Correspondingly, in the rarer Type B cases, the brainstem remains attached to the spinal cord and is exposed cranially given the lack of other cranial structures.

Dr. █████: The cutoff point is at the superior thoracic aperture, in level with the first thoracal vertebrae. This leaves approximately fifteen centimeters of central nervous tissue ending with the mesencephalon.

[ The doctor hovers his hand over the clavicular bone, before placing it on the cadaver's chest. It elevates, and depresses. ]

Dr. █████: The cadaver is executing respiratory motor function. The pulse is also intact.

[ The doctor pushes the cadaver forwards slightly, revealing the thoracic aperture to the camera. ]

Dr. █████: Note the preserved tracheal and esophageal canals, then admire these.

[ He points towards the sides of the surface, highlighting two pulsating vessels. ]

Dr. █████: You are half correct in thinking this to be the carotid artery. It is actually fused with the jugular vein, closing off the cranium from circulation.

[ The doctor pushes the torso back up. ]

Dr. █████: Observe the form.

[ He emphasizes the cadaver’s slouch. ]

Dr. █████: This one belonged to an office salesman, who most likely slouched often. It is now a postural reflex carried through the anterior corticospinal tract.

[ The doctor places a phone in the cadaver’s hand. It begins to straighten its back. ]

Dr. █████: This is also a reflex. It seems as if with only the brainstem, the body maintains ability for respiration and postural control. Fascinating.

[ The doctor begins attaching various needles to the copper exoskeleton. ]

Dr. █████: Without the prefrontal cortex, advanced motor functions are unavailable. However…

[ The doctor exits the frame. A brief spark can be heard, before the cadaver raises its hand in an “OK” gesture. ]

Dr. █████: All bodily functions needed for cellular survival remain, intentionally engineered as such. This corpse is as good as alive. As long as we can make up for the lack of survival instinct, that is.

Dr. █████: I would demonstrate the anatomy of Type A remains. However, most of them are necrotic without the cardiorespiratory system, of course. What is interesting, is that Type A corpses are cut off at the first cervical vertebrae. The neck, therefore, is totally missing in both cases.

Emelie Lindell is the fifteenth victim of RPC-788, having been targeted the night of the 14th of March. Lindell’s home was equipped with numerous surveillance cameras, which were scoured by the SPA. Upon witnessing the content, embedded agents extracted the footage and amnesticized police personnel.

''Samhället för Kropp och Sinne, previously Societas Corporis et Mentis, is a secluded enclave of Christendom within Tyresta National Reserve, Stockholm County. It lies on the fringes of Swedish policy, and has been politically ignored in recent times due to its passive nature. Acting as a secluded micro-nation, the Society of Body and Mind enforces its own laws, economy, and moral worldview, heavily inspired by the teachings of the mystic theologian Emmanuel Swedenborg’s work.

The Society has been historically varied in ídeology, originally being created by the Auctoritas Imperitus to detain and manage prisoners of the anomalous through divine arts. The Society, with union-wide centers, began evangelical work, converting or otherwise neutralizing humanoid entities.

After the Stockholm Bloodbath in 1520, the Church became ostracised by the public. A relative of one of the massacre's victims, Gustav Vasa, soon organized an uproar, ultimately ending the Kalmar Union and overthrowing the Catholic leadership. During this period, the Auctoritas was persecuted by the protestant reformed Kingdom. The Society of Body and Mind was similarly targeted, however were spared in return for giving up all their anomalous assets to Gustav Vasa's replacement unveiled authority: Försvaret mot Avvikande Objekt³

Without Auctoritas support, the Society continued to dwindle throughout the 16th century. Local protestant thought additionally disillusioned the group, culminating in a largely isolationist culture hidden in its previous headquarters of Tyresta. Secluded, the Society’s thinkers began to discuss what led to the decline of Church power, paving the way for Emmanuel Swedenborg’s influences.

Swedenborg preached divine inspiration, claiming to be a prophetic dreamer. Swedenborgism as a belief focuses on moral frameworks, and pictures God as an entity of pure love and affection, seen in all the good of earth. Any evil is as such the absence of divinity. Swedenborgism therefore rejects multiple aspects of the Trinity and Sola Fide.⁴

The Society of Body and Mind applied Swedenborgism to the failures of the Church; an exaggerated emphasis on faith alone. In order to express God, who lies at the heart of all human good, one needed to exercise both the labor of body and mind; both physical charity and spiritual devotion. Anthropocentrism became a staple tenant, insisting that the human soul’s capacity for free will puts it at a higher position than angels.

Mankind was given the choice; toil and devote, or embrace avarice and sloth? It is by making that choice, resisting the temptation, and ultimately expressing God through the goodwill of our souls, that we achieve feats planes above even that of choiceless Angels! Yes, God is in all humans! All of us, in this very chapel! For God, is the soul! All hail the spirit!

Today, the Society remains a secluded enclave in Tyresta. It mainly engages in various charities, and orphan relief. In fact, the Society of Body and Mind often adopts homeless, orphaned, and even anomalous adolescents.

Other sources describe it as a culture of prolific honor-related oppression and shaming. This is exemplified in that the Society constructed catacombs, as the grim profile of graveyards conflicted with the obsession over purity and innocence.

[ The interior of the camp is covered by thick foliage. The trees adopt malformed growths, and much of the grass is unnaturally long. In certain cases, some plants have a vaguely humanoid form. The group navigates through the masses, continuing to make themselves known. ]

[ As the group ventures deeper in the camp, they begin to hear the sounds of activity. Crating, scraping, and various animal grunts. Following the sound, they exit the foliage into a field. Multiple headless humanoids are tending to the soil and planting crops. ]

[ They are varied in age, gender, and apparel. However, all wear a white cloth over their torso, covering the opening of the superior thoracic aperture. They are not wearing shoes, and frequently feel the soil and general environment around them before relocating. One adolescent entity falls over, and a few in the vicinity approach to assist it. ]

[ The crew deliberates action. One headless woman exits from a wooden building to the right. Further inspection reveals it to be a chapel. They attempt to gain the woman’s attention, but she does not respond. They shout and wave, however none of the entities react. They enter the chapel. ]

[ The interior is unkempt, with filth and grime tainting rotting planks. Spiderwebs cover the windows, and pests scurry between the pews. The crew’s attention is diverted to the only clean location: the altar on the east end. Numerous books and scrolls rest upon the platform. A long time ago there was a boy. This boy was the prince of a gentle country. Trees bore fruit, and the grass made beds, all under the prince’s command. This country’s name was Eden, and it sheltered the druid prince and his friends.

One day, a priest from another country came to Eden. The priest asked for an audience with the prince, and explained the evils outside Eden’s walls. The horrors of debauchery, war, oppression and silencing was given stage, and set fear withing the hearts of Eden's inhabitants. In return for safety, the prince and his friends joined the priest’s other country.

The other country had laws of its own. The prince and his friends could no longer play together. They had to pray for long hours. They had to give their things to other people. They were laughed at when they failed. They were poor in good deeds. They learned, and they matured, and they were made intimate with honor, pride, shame, guilt, torment, and forbiddance. They had been cursed with soul, in a country which defiled purity through obsession.

The prince, having grown familiar with the other country’s library, grew wiser yet wiser. He gathered his friends in the study hall one day, and suggested an escape. But the friends rejected him, as they had chores, responsibilities, obligations, and worst of all, guilts that needed tending to.

Betrayed and distraught, the prince receded into the gallows of solitude. He continued to ponder, and study, and understand, until the day revelation descended upon him. He had found the wellspring of misery, he had found the fruit of the first sin, he had found the ghost within, he had found the soul.

And so he reaped spirit. He raised not only his friends, but also the other citizens to angelhood. He refounded Eden, under its true name: our Soulless Sanctuary.

[ As the group ponders the manuals, a clothed entity emerges from a metallic door to the south of the building. P1 becomes frustrated at the entity's lack of attentiveness, and he attempts to physically alert it by pulling its covering. Under the cloth is a segment of exposed spinal cord coiled in a small mass crowned by the brainstem. P1 steps back in shock, as the entity begins warily waving its hands around, and rubbing them on various surfaces, seemingly searching for the covering. ]

[ Multiple entities enter the chapel and feel their way around. P2 proposes that tactile is most likely the entities’ only method of sensation, and a probable mode of telepathy between subjects. P1 chucks the cloth back to the floor. The headless entities are now swarming the building, prohibiting exit. P2, not wanting to alert the entities to their presence, suggests entering through the metal door to seek refuge. ]

[ The metal door leads to a dark, descending stairwell. The party follows a faint light at its bottom. They emerge to the chapel’s basement: branches of catacombs used by the Society of Body and Mind as a substitute for the purportedly grim presence of graveyards. O1 brings attention to a rhythmic chatter, or mumbling, echoing throughout the complex. The team follows the sound. ]

[ As they proceed, a webbing-like network gradually overtakes the cobblestone. It grows in density, occasionally pulsating. O1 mistakenly steps on a thin strand. It begins to leak blood, and P2 suggests the net to be a plexus of arteries. ]

[ Behind a corner rests a cobblestone desk with various excerpts of anatomical texts and other scriptures. O1 rapidly surveys the table with the camera. Most of the text remains illegible, save for a single article: ]

THE ACTUAL CENTRAL DOGMA OF BIOLOGY

Rigorous study, research, and philosophy has produced to me the tidal theorem to all science. I call it the Actual Central Dogma of Biology, or the solution of the Mind Body problem, or the recipe of soul.

The anthropic self is capable of two labors: labors of the body, and labors of the mind. On their own they are efficient, but when muddled together, they devolve to torment.

Each labor produces a distinct pain. Labors of the body make warning signals at the touch of danger through nocioceptive fibers, while labors of the mind guard against exhaustion and inattentiveness with the amygdala.

It is once these labors interact that the soul is found. Once physical labor is evaluated and given an impression, or once an abstract theorem is practiced to real effect, the soul may emerge through the coupled expression of body and mind.

However, if the body communicates nocioceptive pain to the mind, then the human suffers an implicit, dramatised, overemphasized negative stimulus within the cingulate gyrus. Conversely, the pain of the mind becomes bodily sloth, as central system fatigue suppresses the lower, working musculoneural signals. The soul is, in fact, the co-dependent oppression of Body and Mind.

I have found it. The location of the soul. In the intersection of body and mind. The wellspring of misery. The junction between labors. The messenger of torment. The C1-C7. The spirit, in fact, lies within the neck.

To Angels, pain is amity. To humans, pain is misery. I will be the culler of necks, the father of Angelhood. This shall be my providence.

[ The chatter grows in volume as the group continues. Maneuvering the web of arteries proves futile, as more begin to break. ]

[ They reach an opening in the catacombs. Along its stone shelves rests a large amount of decapitated heads. Their eyes are closed, but their mouths continue to move. Their bottom opening is connected to the plexus of arteries. Following it, the net seems to emerge from a biological contraption in the room’s center. It is a cylindrical structure composed of multiple respiratory and gustatory systems grafted together. The numerous lungs move in sync, and the tubes of the small intestine connect to some sort of input funnel at the top. ]

[ P1 readies his rifle and announces his intent to shoot down the contraption. P2 attempts to calm him down, as O1 surveys the room with the camera. ]

Unknown: Stackaren… Poor thing…

[ O1 turns the camera towards the source of the vocalization. The dark form of a man is tending to one of the heads, which has seemingly stopped moving its mouth. ]

Unknown: Ängel är du. Smärtan är din vän. Angel you are. Pain is your friend.

O1: Ursäkta oss! Excuse us!

[ P1 sets the gun on the entity. ]

P1: Det är polisen! Närma oss sakta! This is the police! Approach slowly!

[ It enters within candlelight. The man is dressed in long, black robes. He has green eyes, a fair complexion, and blonde, dirt ridden hair. The neck is heavily injured, apparently maximally circumcised, leaving little save for the vital transport structures intact. The inverted wings emblem rests on his chest. P1 opens fire. ]

[ The entity falls to the ground. The heads still for a second, before beginning to mouth again, this time in unison. Reading their lips produces: ]

Vi är ditt sinnes änglar, du ensam bärare av själ. We are your mind's angels, you sole bearer of soul.

[ P1 cocks his gun at the respiratory contraption. P2 stops him, claiming that life of the heads may still be salvageable. O1 stares at the entity, who has begun to stand up. The bullets expunge from his body, and the injuries are healed. The man looks endearingly at the heads around him, before turning back towards the group. ]

[ O1 begins to run away. A few shots can be heard. An artery animates to entangle O1’s legs. She drops the camera. Multiple headless entities can be seen having entered the catacombs, who surround her. ]

Aftermath: Two days after the group deployed, an animated Type B RPC-788 corpse entered the Riksdag. It was attempting to open the door of an undercover Authority diplomat's office. The corpse was initially struck preliminarily by Authority bodyguards, then taken into custody after regenerating from its wounds.

Later insight revealed it to be the body of Agnes Patrik, the diplomat sent on the Society of Body and Mind expedition. She carried numerous items on her person, including: picked flowers, berries, a leaf crescent, a drive containing the video recorded during the expedition, and a handwritten letter. The content is attached below, and translated from Swedish.

Damocles Hugo Alfons is an unstable biokinetic who decapitates and exterminates the will of his victims, before recruiting their animated corpses into a “nation” called the “Soulless Sanctuary” located within Tyresta Nature Reserve.
