Registered Phenomena Code: RPC-XXX

Object Class: Omega White

Hazard Types: Teleportation Hazard, Sapient Hazard, Sentient Hazard, Incorporeal Hazard, Psychotronic Hazard, Ideological Hazard, Extradimensional Hazard, and Emotional Hazard.

Containment Protocols:

There is currently no method of containment for RPC-XXX. However, given its willingness to cooperate with the Authority and its self-containing nature to avoid being perceived by the general public, we have decided to keep observations on RPC-XXX.

Description:

RPC-XXX is a humanoid entity that takes the form of a 25-year-old adult, human male carrying a backpack, manifesting within hospitals near children suffering from terminal illnesses. RPC-XXX does not exhibit any malicious or hostile intent and does not demonstrate adverse reactions during the Authority’s interception attempts. RPC-XXX is incorporeal, able to phase through solid matter, and can be seen floating within its environment. On several occasions, RPC-XXX has been seen teleporting away.

Although the children have reportedly sighted RPC-XXX, there have not been confirmed sightings by medical staff, parents, or security footage. The entity consistently appears at night between the nurses' shifts or when parents are asleep, usually between 12 AM and 5 AM. Security footage has failed to capture any signs of the entity's presence or movement in the hallways. In some cases, if a child is left with a gift (such as a toy or a plushie), neither parents nor hospital staff have been able to explain how the object in question appeared.

RPC-XXX will attempt to fulfill any request the subject it approaches wishes, however small or logistically implausible, and will pursue its fulfillment by any means necessary. If a wish is as simple as wanting the subject's favorite toy, the entity will pull one out of thin air. If the subject wants to see their favorite character, the entity will leave and return donning the persona with clear and pristine accuracy to the child's favorite character. In one case, a subject wished to see their estranged dad again. However, this was the only instance of a wish that wasn't immediately fulfilled. (See Addendum-XXX-A Case-005)

When a wish exceeds what is physically possible (e.g. "I want to fly," "I want to see the Statue of Liberty," "I want to see my dead dog again,") RPC-XXX will teleport them, going out of sight to fly, or a location that is hundreds of miles from their original location, to manifesting hallucinations that affect sight, sound, touch. The prospect of hallucinatory effects has been a point of contention, however, as there was one recorded instance observed by an Authority Agent of a subject wishing to see their mother again; a third previously unidentified individual entered separately from the entity still present in the room. This recorded instance showed that the Authority Agents present at the time also claimed to have seen the mother.

The entity does not respond to summoning, ritual, or any known induction methods; its appearances are unpredictable and cannot be reliably reproduced under controlled conditions. Interviews with the subjects of RPC-XXX's interest indicate that the entity's behavior is solely focused on comfort and wish fulfillment of the children it visits. RPC-XXX ceases to be present, or perceptible, within moments of the subject's fulfillment of the wish, and has never been observed to remain, interact with grieving family members, or manifest a second time for the same individual.

Addendum XXX-A:

Included below is a non-exhaustive sample of RPC-XXX's manifestations, compiled from hospital and hospice records flagged by RPC Authority informants and on-site agents.

Case Log-XXX-001

Case-001
Subject: A 9-year-old boy named Michael, suffering from cystic fibrosis.
Description: Michael wished for his stuffed plushie of Toothless the dragon that he had lost after moving across the state with his parents 3 years ago. RPC-XXX reaches into his backpack, pulling out a 3 ft plushie. Michael died the next day, still holding the plushie.

> Case-002
Subject: A 12-year-old girl named Marie, suffering from osteosarcoma.
Description: Marie wished to see her mother, who had died two years prior, "one more time." An on-site agent who was present to observe RPC-XXX witnessed and reported seeing a third unidentified individual entering the hospital room and proceeding to embrace the girl. The individual who claimed to be Marie's mother spent the next 40 minutes of the subject's life at her bedside. The agent reported that shortly after the subject's passing, the individual kissed her daughter on the head and whispered, "I'll see you soon," before fading out of view. RPC-XXX was reported to have also left shortly after.

Case-004
Subject: A 7-year-old boy named James, suffering from leukemia.
Description: James wished to see the Statue of Liberty. James always wanted to visit New York City, expressing an interest in seeing the Statue of Liberty up close. RPC-XXX placed his hand on his shoulder, disappearing for approximately 5 minutes before teleporting back. While hospital staff did not witness the child disappearing, a photograph showing the subject in question standing in the background before the colossal statue was found in his hands.

Case-005
Subject: A 13-year-old girl named Clarissa, suffering from stage 4 brain cancer.
Description: Clarissa wished to see her father again one last time. The subject had not seen or had any contact with her father following a divorce 6 years ago and wished to see him. RPC-XXX reportedly took out what appeared to be a cellphone, left the room, and proceeded to call the subject's father. The next morning, the subject's father had arrived. First, there was a brief argument between the mother and father before the father was allowed in to see Clarissa. The father had spent nearly the entire day with the subject until her death at 11:30 PM. The father had spent the next hours crying and repeatedly apologizing to the subject.
